When my mother baked she would shout out “Who wants to lick the spoon?”  The first of her kids to the kitchen would get the choice – the bowl, the beater or the spoon to lick off the buttery sweet mixture. I was lucky enough to grow up in a family of chefs and cooks and through this exposure developed a love of the culinary. My grandmother was a pastry chef, my uncle was a fine dining chef and all my female relatives could wield a wooden spoon with ease. I have never taken any formal training, but learnt by observing and trial and error.

In this blog I want to share some of my culinary successes and experiences. I am lucky enough to travel a lot, and so also get the chance to try different cuisines. I hope that with my love of good food, my openness to try new things and my side hobby of photography I will be able to share some great recipes and stories with you all.
